About Me

Nice to meet you! I'm Drew (and that's Chippy). I am a storyteller at heart with a diverse skillset in the marketing and communications industry.
I am a lifelong Ohioan who moved to Cleveland after graduating from Ohio University’s E. W. Scripps School of Journalism in 2014. After college, I worked as a freelance writer. Over the past seven years, I've had my work published in a number of regional and national publications, including Billboard.com, Ohio Magazine and Cleveland Magazine.
In 2015, I started work as a Public Relations Technician for Sonnhalter, a communications firm marketing to the professional tradesman in the construction, industrial and MRO markets. There, I learned that my diverse journalism background gave me the ability to adapt to each client's unique voice and style guidelines.
Working for a small agency, I had the unique challenge and opportunity to work on a broad range of projects and campaigns for my clients. Since I was hired, I've accumulated years of experience in copywriting, media relations, influencer relations and social media management.
In 2019, I was promoted to the role of Content Engineer. I am responsible for drafting, editing and managing a large majority of Sonnhalter’s public relations and creative copy for both the agency and its clients. I also help develop and implement the annual PR programs for a number of our key clients.
Outside of work, if I'm not out trying to find the best new fried chicken or microbrewery, I'm at home watching basketball or the latest Ken Burns documentary. I'm also an avid guitar player and have played in bands since I was 13.
